ADVISORY: Health IT Now to Hold Telehealth Event Tomorrow in Geneva, NY with Rep. Tom Reed

Rep. Reed and Health IT Now staff set to tour Geneva Community Health to discuss how doctors are using telehealth services to enhance patient care

GENEVA, NY: Health IT Now - a broad-based coalition of patient groups, provider organizations, employers, and payers supporting health information technology to improve patient outcomes - will join Congressman Tom Reed (R-NY) for a tour of Geneva Community Health in upstate New York tomorrow, where they will discuss how the facility is utilizing telehealth services to enhance patient care.

Mary Zelazny, CEO, Finger Lakes Community Health, will be conducting the tour with Sirene Garica, Director of Special Programs, Dr. Jose Canario (FLCH Medical Director), Dr. Tony Mendicino Jr. (FLCH Dental Director), and Dr. John Gillespie (Cardiologist). 

Attending the tour from Health IT Now will be Executive Director, Joel White, and Senior Director of Government Affairs, Catherine Pugh.

Most recently, Health IT Now successfully fought for the inclusion of several key telehealth provisions in the Bipartisan Budget Act signed into law last month - including nationwide access to stroke telemedicine (also known as "telestroke") services, improved access to telehealth-enabled home dialysis therapy, and the allowance of telehealth as a standard benefit in Medicare Advantage.
